This was a Christmas gift for my girlfriends mother. Her favorite series was TOS, so I searched for this great little kit. Luckily the nearby "Michaels" had it in stock (last one). Overall this kit had a lot of issues, mainly with seams. There were parts of the kit that just didn't fit properly whatsoever and serious cutting and puttying was required. The impulse engines and nacelle struts stand out in particular as being cause for concern when I started building the kit. In the end the seams were filled and it looked quite nice. I feel that i'll always long to get back to a large scale kit, where all the small details are easier for me to get to and make more unique...if that makes any sense.
